Default Annoying noise winding me up

Owned 06 XK for a few months now. One ongoing niggle (apart from the aerial and the ever so wobbly rev counter needle). Particularly noticeable when cold there is an intermittent noise eminating from I believe the engine Bay Area. Hard to say if it's linked to gear changes but certainly could be. Best described as either a noisy air con pump clicking in (which it isn't the air con) or similar to an exhaust cooling down after getting hot - not sure what words adequately describe this hence my comparisons. Seems to go or certainly be less audible when driven a few miles. Any pointers would be appreciated. The drive is not affected.

That description gives us so little to go on.

Looks like you're in England so you do have a X150/// if the periscopic antenna bothers you you know you can simply pull the fuse behind the back seats and it'll not raise anymore right?

Hi, yes it's X 150. Aware of the fuse but listen to radio so catch 22. I know the noise description is relatively vague but I was hoping with the noise comparisons and linking it to gear change, predominantly just after start up when cold, this may have been something someone related to.

Welcome to the forum Chris,

Trying to describe a noise is usually a greater challenge than fixing it!

Post a sound clip if you can get one. Putting it on YouTube and posting a link here is the easiest way.
