Default Any UK owners going to the British GP.

This question is for any UK GP fans. My son and i have booked a 3 day package from Ireland to siverstone in July. Trouble is my son wants to be at the track for Friday practice too and there's a chance to see some of the drivers. We have gone before but not for Friday. The package deal we have is going over on the friday coming back on the Monday. We go over by ferrie on friday to UK and stay in birminham. Saturday and sunday we are coached to and from the track.
Now for us to attend friday leaves us flying over on the thursday, staying in birminham and going to the track on friday, meeting up with the tour package on saturday morning.
The part i need help with is the travel from birminham to siverstone on the friday, returning in the evening. I have looked up trains and buses and the journey time and cost is unreal, no buses on the friday are laid on spesically to silverstone on the friday, just the usual routes. Has any one any other ideas much appreciated.

What do you call expensive? It looks like you could get a hire car from Budget from £24 for the day (9am - 6pm) and it is £15 to park at the circuit on the Friday.

Thanks for that, will look that up. I was just looking at trians and buses, seem to be a long route and some change overs, and an expensive return journey for one day, your option sounds good and there is a big differnce in price. Thanks

I'll be up there from the Thursday; we camp near to the circuit. PM me and we can swap numbers for a meet-up over the weekend.

The Beast will be there - it'll be parked on the hill by the lake in Whittlebury Park's Lakeside campsite, in the same spot we've used since 2006

Great stuff, will be looking forward to see the 'Beast'. As i said we are going with a package deal to the gp, staying in Birmingham, but it dosn't leave till friday, so we are going to fly over on the thursday and go to the track friday, meeting the others on saturday morning. All our transfers are included except for us on the friday, so i'm trying to get the best option return from birmingham to the track for that day. There is a train and bus swap option, but seems expensive and the journey is long. Working on it.

Ngarara, Just seen i can book the megabus coach with return on the friday, so were sorted. Looking forward to two things now, a good race and a chance to see an xkr 75, hopfully we get good weather. Is your camp site near the track.
