You have never heard me say a word bad about Jaguar.
They absolutely are missing an entire department that deals with how a car sheds water.
Just look on this forum of members who have taken the spoiler off to discover flourishing tide pools or had mirrors fall off.
They have literally designed buckets all around the car that hold water and dont let go of it as easily.

Blowing air after washing and driving on treated roads is a must. Soap water itself corrodes the daylights out of aluminum.
This car can hold on to soap like nothing else. The hood vents for example, even after thoroughly rinsing them, I can blow soap bubbles with my blower.
Soap water has lower surface tension, so its getting into the trap created for it and clean rinse water is not flushing it out.

They stopped sanding the roads here in your favorite State Cee Jay. Now the cities pre spray the roads with a brine (salt mixed with 23% water. They do still use the hard salt once the snow piles up though.

Nope ! no snow, no rain, not even after it rains and the roads are still wet. it sits tucked away in garage toasty and clean. sorry guys. I know I should drive it more and enjoy it, but i'll take it out on bright sunny day only on clean roads. it's been resting since October. I bought it in August 2019, and its only been out once thus far.

That rig looks a lot like the ones that are used in my part of the United States.

One other point that I didn't mention, in my earlier post. I see that several of you fellows have tried to brave the snowy roads with what appears to be the OE, fairly wide, "all season" tires. Based on my 50 years of winter driving experience, I can assure you that they just don't work well, at all. The best tires for snowy roads, are narrow tires, that concentrate the car's weight, cut through the snow, and won't be "pushed around" by the snow, like a wide tire will be. And depending on how much snow has fallen, ground clearance can be an issue.

In a moment of madness before Christmas, I considered Part-Ex'ing my XK for an F-Type. It was only when I kept finding four year old examples with less than 15K miles that I realised it must be for one of two reasons:

1. the car was pampered
2. the car was c**p

I like spoiled cars too but the madness has passed and I'm still enjoying the XK. Big mileage and pampered but driven regardless of the weather.

Oh, one hundred percent on keeping the car out of the snow. As a product of New England I know it well.
EVERY time you see photos of my Jag in snow was, on my part, bad parenting.
I gambled on the weather and lost, each time.
