IT WORKS!!! Switching out the video board from the donor screen to my existing screen got everything up and running! Of course, this just gets me back to ground zero. How bad do I want to take it back apart to add Mr.12Volt Carplay?

As someone who had to source a replacement screen, installing Mr.12Volt twice is worth every second.
Done! I have Mr. 12Volt installed in my 2010 XK. I was able to install it and run the USB cable into the center console up under the rubber mat (I didn't want to drill). By this time of trial and error, I was able to reput in the video board and install it without having to walk step by step through the video.
I love the 15 channel parametric equalizer! I need to play with it some more, but it should allow me to neutralize the Jaguar DSP which I think was created more with the convertible in mind than the coupe, which I have. I can say I highly recommend it!
Anybody care to share their car equalizer settings?

I knew you would get it done! Enjoy! I think you may be the first p3000 here…

You don't want mine. Serious hearing impairment here and have some bizarre settings. I do have the OEM balancer more forward than centered. I find certain music sounds like it's coming from an echo chamber. Congrats on getting it done.
ChatGPT thinks this is a good core tuning for the XK B&W system with Mr. 12Volt:Core tuning:
Sub-bass (30–60 Hz): +2
Mid-bass (80–120 Hz): +2
Low mids (150–300 Hz): +3 ← MOST IMPORTANT
Mids (500–1k Hz): 0
Upper mids (1.5–3 kHz): -3 ← fixes tinny sound
Presence (4–6 kHz): -2
Treble (8–12 kHz): -1
1. Boosting 150–300 Hz
👉 Restores body and warmth
This is exactly where your system is lacking, which is why everything sounds:
thin
hollow
“digital”
2. Cutting 1.5k–3k Hz
👉 Fixes the harsh / shouty / metallic vocals
This is the main problem frequency range people complain about:
“painfully high in the 1,500–2,500 Hz range” 3. Slight treble reduction
👉 Keeps detail but removes:
glare
listening fatigue
4. Mild bass boost (not too much)
👉 Adds weight without muddying mids
I think it might not be a bad starting place. I don't fully agree with the AI assessment; The system to me has decent bass but a midrange suck out due to no dedicated midrange and the midwoofer expected to produce much higher than ideal. This leaves the tweeters hitting high notes that sound shrill.
Like I said above, I believe they used this DSP and aluminum tweeters to "cut through" road noise and wind in the convertible. They really should have come up with a different voicing for the coupe.
I've mitigated this to some extent by adding crossovers to the door speakers so they crossover at a more correct frequency and replaced the aluminum tweeters with some nice silk dome tweeters by Peerless. The door midwoofers are kevlar and are actually not too bad, at least for OEM speakers. Its harder to source 2 ohm speakers or I would probably have kept the kevlar look by replacing them with Focal. I don't want to lose half of the output, and I'm (so far) resisting the urge to replace with an aftermarket DSP like a JBLMS8 and amp, like I did with my XE.
I don't use AI as it's a debacle and unreliable. Never will use it. I've disabled it on my computer and tried to get rid of what I could on all my portable devices.

Fair point. I have a good deal of ambivalence about AI myself. I was simply using it to try to synthesize a number of different data points kind of like a series of Google searches. I am hoping for some human input on good EQ choices for Mr.12Volt in our XKs.
Edited to add: I guess the best way would be to download Rew onto a laptop and get a MiniDSP with calibrated mic to see exactly what the interior of the XK does with sound and how to correct.
I asked the Mr12v guy in the UK about this and he said it can be done but can be challenging. The unit certainly has an output for a reversing camera. The guy also said he doesn’t have a single installer in the UK who will do the camera. For that reason I went with another supplier and the car is being done now. The installation is proving challenging. I’ll report back next week with an update.

Thanks for the information, Paul. I look forward to hearing how it turns out.
Sounds like most people must be doing the direct connect to the OEM unit. I'll go check those threads.

I have one of the older M12V models - P2000. The only used 720p cameras. I think the new ones accept 1080. In any event, I'd already retrofitted my 07 with a camera so I have no need for the M12V version. I suspect, don't know, that the M12V camera only works when you're in M12V mode. I know my reverse camera only works when the car is in OEM mode. No big deal. I press the radio power button and am returned to the OEM screen, Once I've backed up, I just press the power button again and return to M12V.
Now I see that you have a 2011 model I wanted to tell you that my mechanic ( a Jag specialist) told me that putting a Mr12v with a reversing camera in a 2010 + model is “easy peasy”
I have a 2008 and apparently the instal is challenging in the pre 2009 model years.
You should definitely chat with the Mr12v distributor where you are. The guy in the UK is very helpful.
It's an old photo but it still works great. I like it because it fits perfectly in the ashtray, works together with the factory system, has moving and color-coded grid lines, and meets my needs with no modifications to the interior.
P.S. Search Amazon for similar backup cameras.
