@liambiggs maybe you know if the update can be done using USB + included port instead of weird sd card setup from mr12v video?

For those who have the Mr 12 Volt, I’m curious to know how the oem microphone works with it…

@SpursMadDave here's response from mr12volt regarding updates:

1. MCU update can only be done by an microSD card, there's no way to work around it. I suggest to purchase a SD slot extension cable (<30CM) before opening up the dash board, so you don't have to take apart everything again in future MCU updates.

2. I suggest to wait for a newer version, if the unit is working okay there is no need to rush for updates.

Thnks yes I got the same response, my unit is accessible without taking everything apart just small bit of trim under the glovebox but as everything is working fine then as they say no need to worry.

Would have been nice to know how updates were going to work when I fitted the unit but nevermind

Yep, I don't think they tell what's being updated do they?

Here's what the changelog says for Jags (XF/XK):
- "XF_1.0_240517" Fixed touchscreen not working after restart issue
- "XF_1.0_240528" Fixed a bug that may cause controller buttons and touch screen non responsive after start up

At least I know what I'll have to do if I run into these 😄

For anyone interested in installing one of these units you may want to install an SD card extension cable for easy access for future updates.

It's probably going to take some enterprising person to advertise their installation services in North Georgia before my XKR 150 gets brought up to the new millennium. Either that or I'll need to grow steely nerves and become ten times more familiar with the electronics. 😳

It's honestly not that bad at all, as long as you don't rush and follow the instructions

It won't work in an 07.

Next question...

Where do you put your smartphone when connected to AA and you want to charge it?

Use an adapter for the cigarette lighter.

If you did, it would have automatically appeared at the end of your post, just like in Post #118 and this one.
