Default awd f type

This summer Jag N.A. will officially announce the F-type, in all versions, will be AWD in addition to manual. To be released as a 2016 model. It will be interesting to see how Porsche responds

I'll believe it when I see it. I imagine Porsche won't need to respond to it!

So far they only have AWD on the 6 cylinder versions. If they really bring the manual shifter my long shot guess is it is just for 4 cylinder versions to make them feel a little sportier but we shall see ....

Yes, and there's a reason for that. Looking underneath my XF 3.0 AWD, I don't see how they can fit a 5.0 in there. The added room for the AWD drivetrain makes for a crowded engine compartment.

If JLR comes out with an AWD for the F-Type it will most likely be for the V6 version.

agreed. I dont think they can fit the AWD system on the V8 - least that is my assumption. It will be interesting to see exactly how the AWD system improves the V6 model and times compared to the RWD V8 on the track - im sure the V8 would still beat it in a drag race but by how much? This should get interesting. What will be even more interesting is... THE PRICES.

The F-Type is heavy enough as it is--adding AWD will increase the weight even more!
