Default Battery too large for the rack? What to do?

Hi everyone,
Had weird things with the car and apparently the battery went down within 1 night in the cold so I decided to swap the battery...
Not having much experience in car DIY I just ordered the highest capacity I found for car, with a rectangular shape... Ended up with a 110ah 920A battery.
Today I took off the old one and discovered they are not the same size... there's around 3,5 cm difference in length and 1cm in high....
I also discovered there's a wall mount for the battery which is quite different from the other cars I had...

It's too late for me to send back the new battery as I charged it full and so took of the warranty straps over the gaz holes...
And I desperate I might only find smaller capacity batteries that would fit....
So, Is there a way to install the bigger battery?
I mean, apparently it's just 2 metal pleats that hold it lengthwise ...(they could be easily sowed away with an angle grinder)
I saw some of you installed smaller batteries... but did some of you installed larger ones?
What would you all suggest?

Thanks a lot.

Well, batteries do come in a variety of standard sizes and varying capacities and technologies…
I’m certain you could walk into a autoparts store and source a generic mount. Don’t make the same mistake twice and choose a mount that won’t fit the battery.
Then jury rig it somehow to the vehicle.

Me… I’d just source the right battery and be done with it.

You could use it connect to a correct size battery during times you have the car parked underground for extended periods giving you 200 plus amp-hours. Although you would need to disconnect when driving the car to avoid off gassing, then charge the larger battery at home.

If you ground the end clamps to fit, would they hold the new battery from moving. You pic seems to show the vent attached.
Then if successful add a trickle charger to help the OE alternator keep the charge up to maximum.

Cutting things off your car is the worst thing to do.
Suck it up, get the correct battery. Maybe you can sell the wrong one to someone.

I think you can safely eliminate the side clamp as long as you can secure it with the front clamp.

ATTACK THAT STUFF!

Yeah, I'd not ever do that to one of these. Some old truck, maybe.

It unscrews, no need for cutting...

Well, that would make it easier. And better.
I've never checked because I have the right size battery installed.
I HAVE done a lot of cutting and grinding on cars in my life though. Just not on something as expensive as these things.

If that's the "case" then it would be easy to get a metal shop to fabricate a new bracket for the larger battery.

The battery's held in by 4 positions 2 of which must be removed anyway to remove and replace the battery. If only the right position where the removable silver aluminum retainer block is the only point of interference, then simply leaving the block off should be the solution. I'm confident the other 3 points, with the front screw down nice and snug surely would be sufficient.
