Black or silver grill

Black or silver grill
Just thinking about painting my upper and lower grills, plus side fog grills. I used the paint function on my laptop just to get a bit of an idea. The 2 side fog light grills came black and the upper and lower were the usual greyish color. I had them air brushed silver/chrome and they do look nice. Why black then, well just want a change and seems black grills are the norm now. Think it might give the front end a meaner look. Any views welcome, should i go to the black colour or leave as is.

Mine were silver then I had the Mina black grilles fitted. I prefer the black, but I saw a silver with silver in Japan like the one above and couldnt help but think how good it looked.
It is a pain getting them out, I ended up having a panel beater do it. But I think you'll like the change.

Black. I've just painted a spare set of upper and lower grilles for my own 4.2 XKR. First attempt at fitting them last weekend was foiled due to seized bolts in the arch liners. Will be attacking it again a week on Saturday and my car is the same colour as yours Powerhouse, so I'll post pics here when I've done mine if you haven't already done it by then.

Yesterday, while driving on the freeway, a large chunk of wood was tossed right in front of my car, and I couldn't avoid running it over. Besides scraping the bottom lip paint, it put a dimple and slight break in the lower bead of the lower grille. I went over to my body guy this morning and told him that if we were going to repair it rather than replace it, then we might as well paint it black as well as the upper grille and the grille on my rear customized bumper. It will be done this coming week, and I'll take before and after pictures to compare them. It will match my black scoops (on liquid silver exterior) on the hood, and I think will be good. Pictures next Friday.
