Cool, should be done on Saturday. I tried using Plasti Dip originally but it didn't work out so I decided to paint it.

I noticed in another thread of yours that you fitted a later Growler badge to your front grille - can I ask, how did you attach it and did you have to modify the grille to suit? I got one of the ones for the pre-facelift 5.0 cars and couldn't see a way to fit it to the 4.2 grilles neatly at all.

I fitted one of the new 70 mm red badges to my 200 xkr. Got it on ebay
Mine had the old green badge, just go round the old one with a small screwdriver and it will pop off. Take of the double sided tape off new badge and put some silicone on the rear of badge, get silicone such as "no more nails" sticks in about an hour. The old badge leaves a chrome ring behind on the grill so fill it with silicone to make up the gap. Then push on, as the new badge is slightly bigger it will just push a small bit into the chrome ring. Will sit out a bit, but looks ok and factory looking.
I changed my rear XK badge for the new one , got on eBay too make it more modern and nicer badge i think item no; 231231717034. I have a led halo ring around it which lights with the side lights, does look nice. Hope you can get round it but is quite simple, 20 minute job. There is 2 sizes a 70mm and 85mm, the 70mm is the one to go for.

Gold plate it all. Time for the 1980's to be chic again. Someone needs to be the prime mover.

Got the job done on Saturday but it was dark by the time I got finished. Washed the car yesterday, light was getting low again by the time it was done but here's a very quick shot which gives an idea of how it looks now.

I'm very happy with it, the front end now looks more like the 4.2 XKR-S which is what I was looking for. Just wish I could find the XKR-S aero parts at a reasonable price...

It's not quite body colour, my car is Midnight black and the grilles are just black. In strong sunlight or under petrol (sorry, gas) station forecourt lights - the strongest source of light known to man - you can see the difference in colour.

They'd look even better on a dark grey car, almost makes me wish I'd held out a little longer for a slate grey car. If I do ever trade up to a 5.0 XKR it'll be a Stratus Grey pre-facelift with black pack.
