Default Black XKR alloy choice

Come on then lads, let's see pictures of your alloys.

Interested in getting something different but can't visualise well enough and trust myself to actually pick something nice!

Interested in black spec but enjoy seeing nice cars anyway so post away!

This is a wheel I wish I could demo, but wouldn't spend the coin without knowing if I'd love or hate it.

I think the time it takes to really get the wheels just right on one of these may not be worth it.

Just go with something factory, you can easily find pictures and like or not like.

You could also consider just refinishing the factory wheels you already have.

The fact is what you already have looks spectacular.

Perhaps if you are feeling the need for change for change's sake, go to 2010 LED tail lights.

I went with aftermarket wheels from a driving perspective.

From a styling perspective I did at best 7/10.

I think my stock wheels were in need of trueing, and they also needed refinishing. I think my car looked better on it's factory wheels than the aftermarket I bought.

It also drives a lot peppier on the flow formed wheels with less rotating mass.

At some point when I decide what finish to go for, my XK will return to its factory wheels. For now it looks like this.

Taste is subjective, so do whatever you think looks right. Personally, I feel that black wheels are extremely low rent. Like something you'd see on a beat up Civic that's trying too hard. Your car looks great with the wheels on it. If I were to change the wheels, I'd go with a set of OEM five spokes, like these:

2009-2009 Jaguar XK 20in Rear 59847 - All Factory Wheels

But that's just my hot take. Like I said- when it comes to appearance, who cares what anyone else thinks... do what makes you happy.

I also like the 5 spoke OEM style. I usually find OEM wheels seem to look the best. I'm not a fan of chrome unless it is on a wire wheel. Also don't go for the black out style as it always reminds me of someone who doesn't bother to clean up their brake dust. Just my opinion.

You still have to clean the brake dust off of black wheels.

Also not a fan of the blacked out look. I like the contrast of the silver.

I recently had some wheels refinished, and one of the options I saw was a dark hypersilver that would look great on a black car. It wasn't as dark as gunmetal and had more lustre so you'd get the dark motif for your car while still getting some nice contrast. I personally prefer wheels that look like metal rather than body paint since it adds an additional element of contrast besides just hue. Refinishing the factory Sentas in dark hypersilver would be awesome. You can see in the pics below how dark hypersilver falls somewhere between gunmetal and silver.

I've got the OE black 20" Vulcans on my XKR-S, and I'm not a huge fan but I probably won't change them out. Ideally, I would have a second set of wheels so I could have one set of tires for everyday use and road trips, and one set of track day tires.

I haven't yet found any high quality and light alternatives other than the BBS CHRII, but they're only available in 21" for our 5-108 bolt circle, and they're expensive. BBS lists the weights as 38.9 lb for 21x9 ET 45 and 39.6 lb for 21x10.5 ET 32. There are some photos of them on a black F-Type here:

Default Kalimnos to Takobas

Swapped my Kalimnos wheels for the Takobas which I felt gave the 2011 a nice update. Plus the added benefit of easier maintenance...
