Blacked out the chrome
The Powder coater is taking a long time to
finish the wheels. I also have the dash pulled out to be recovered. My poor car looks like it’s been in a chop shop lol!
I’ll have pics for you this week 👍🏻.

Plasti dip holds up very well to rocks. It’s easy to apply and gives you the blacked out look. It has more of a stain finish when used with its “glossifier”.
This autoflex product has a very glossy finish. It took longer than expected to complete.. but I hope it looks great once all of the masking is taken off.
I’ll take some more pics tomorrow.

You bring up a great point.. I had mixed results with taping off just the chrome. I had a few areas where It pulled off the new wrap because of the rubber trim being so close to the chrome. I am going to try the sides again (the rest of the car turned out really good). I think I will spray the top edge of the rubber this time. The spray wrap is flexible and should look better if the small rubber seal is sprayed. I had tearing in a few spots where the rubber met the chrome. More pics to come.. (I am very frustrated with the delays on my powder coated wheels and suede dash. I am told I will have all of these parts back this Wednesday.
