Default Bluetooth module issues, 2007 XK

My 2007 Bluetooth module is not working. Not recognizing the phone NOR searching for the phone. Do I need to have it reprogramed IF I switch the entire module

Just swapping out the phone module doesn't require programming.

But the phone module is unique to the XK, because of the external antenna, you'd need to find an XK version. The ones from the XF and LR2 are compatible but give poor connectivity because they have an internal antenna.

Welcome to the forum mpaff,

I've moved your question from XK8/XKR for the earlier two door X100 model to XK/XKR forum for the later X150 model. This is the place to post questions about your model.

Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some information about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

What is the make and model of your phone? If it's fairly new, it's possible that your car's Bluetooth is OK and that because it's over 10 years old it's simply not compatible with your newer phone. Read the "Sticky" at the top of the X150 Home page. My Galaxy S8 works with the Bluetooth in my 2009 XKR.

Before you conclude that your Bluetooth module is bad, see if it will recognize an old phone that's listed in that Sticky as being compatible with your car. Also, you need to rule out your phone as the culprit, so see if it will pair with another car.

There might be a section in the repair manual about troubleshooting Bluetooth connections, etc. Hopefully, another Forum member can help.

Good luck, and keep us informed

I’ve been learning a lot about the Bluetooth systems on my 2009 XK. The pairing/docking process only works with the ignition in convenience mode, not with the engine running. FYI.
