Default BMW ads ??!??!

What's with all the BMW advertising on a Jaguar forum, eh? SPAM sucks - stop it!

Lots of Mazda ads, too. I don't mind them. Variety is the spice of life!

Pays for the site I guess. Waste of time as far as I'm concerned but harmless.

I have two colleagues that are BMW lovers. I asked them how they felt about them being a dime a dozen on the roads...

One said that there really isn't a ton on the road, you just see them in higher income/affluent areas. The other said it' because they're such great cars (the two answered in separate emails)

So that afternoon I counted the number of BMW's I saw on my 18 mile trip home, and reported to them the next day.

I counted 21 BMW's...

Honestly, I'm more concerned about the barrage of Viagra and Dulcolax ads I see on this site.

Am I the only one experiencing this...?

No, I block ad sites - it's the fake topic that appears at the top of the list every time I refresh it, e.g. "See why a city guy who likes petrol and motors would go for the all-new BMW i3." See my hairy buttocks, Mr. BMW…

Not ragging on BMW, just offended that someone feels empowered to SPAM the list.

I run adblock plus in Chrome and see absolutely no adds, fake or otherwise no matter what I do within this forum or anywhere else.

So, when I look at the Threads list for the XK/XKR forum, I usually (though not always) see a thread just under the 'sticky' threads, i.e. the top 'new' thread, which is actually an advertisement. There's no content visible (you only see that if you open the thread), but the title is something like "Thinking of going electric, but put off by popular myths about the short driving range of electric vehicles? Think again", and the Last Post column shows "Sponsored Post by BMWi". As there's no content, just a thread title, there's nothing for an ad blocker to block.

It's not a big deal, I just hate the fact that the owners of the forum have decided it's OK to SPAM me.

No one or any of us are particularly enamoured by and ads that may appear here, I have to say.

Generally, most switched on people here run ad block plus or similar and see very few.....I myself, not too many to be fair.

Please bear in mind that this site is FREE for all to use due to the advertising that may appear.
