Default BT music streaming

In my (new to me) 2013 XKR vert - Is the car Bluetooth module only for telephone calls, or can I also somehow stream from my I-phone 8?
The phone is paired and I'm able to use the BT phone functionality.
Tried to connect to the USB, but nothing happened besides charging the phone.

OR, put your music on a USB drive and stick that into the USB slot in the console. All controls are active that way, and nothing else to worry about.

Do you have the Ipod interface for the center console right beside the USB? You need that cable, then you can use the WMA1000 BT device. My Wife has been using that for 3 years in our 2012, works great. The Jaguar Ipod cable terminates in the older 30 pin connector, the WMA1000 is 30 pin also. I see that Amazon has knock off cable with mixed reviews...

With that you will have full Bluetooth streaming of music!

Hi

I also use the WMA1000 in my 2011 XK to connect wirelessly my iPhone 6s. Works nicely. There are only some minor topics, where it is not perfect
  1. For me the steering wheel/console controls in the car do not work to operate the music from the phone, such as next track, previous track, etc. - the car volume controls off-course do function no issue. Need to control e.g. next track from the phone.
  2. No convenient way to stop playback. Must turn off stereo or select other source. If you press pause on the phone, the playback will resume after a couple of seconds.
  3. Last and a bit annoying: If a call comes in while music playback, the music playback is not paused but continues in the call audio connection in the background and cannot be easily stopped (best workarounds I found so far: kill the app that plays the music on the iPhone or turn volume of music down to zero via car or phone controls BEFORE you accept the call).
Nevertheless, I still very much recommend the WMA1000 for use in a Jag XK.

BR,
Ter

Thanks. My car is missing the IPod interface cable (I had those in my previous XFs). I just ordered the cable and Bovee 1000 BT device

I prefer using my ancient iPod Nano (5th Generation) to play my music because it gives me full steering wheel and touchscreen controls. I also use a Scosche passPort to have simultaneous charge and play capability. It's unobtrusive and stays in the center armrest. See my Post #10:

iPods and USB disks are fine if your music tastes have stagnated or you don't mind the hassle of plugging them in to something to update them but I still follow chart music through Spotify.

I create a folder each year and once a month listen to the top 50 and add any songs I like to the current years folder. I then have access to that on my PC at work, on my iPad, TV or laptop at home and anything I can stream bluetooth to from my phone whether it is my car, home stereo or even a bluetooth pod speaker.

I also have folders for each decade from the 70's onward and music styles ranging from jazz to reggae to heavy metal to blues to EDM. Whenever I listen to one of those on Spotify it also recommends another 10 tracks at the bottom of my play list that are similar so I often listen to those as well and add them to the folder if I like them. I have discovered and rediscovered loads of artists and songs that I really like from that.

I never thought I would pay to stream music as it is so easy to find whatever music you want on the internet and download it but streaming gives you easy access to almost unlimited music and you have access to it wherever you go without the hassle of having to copy it on to a USB disk or iPod.
