Default Burl wood steering wheel

From time to time I have seen the question come up regarding burl wood steering wheels. Jaguar only offered it as an option in 2007 although I ordered one for my 2008 convertible. I just came across this on eBay for a very reasonable price and in my humble opinion, much nicer than what Jaguar offered.

While it looks great, I think I'd prefer a leather grip area for comfort.

I also probably loose the heated steering wheel as well.

However, its tempting.

I'm fortunate to have the original wood trimmed wheel in my 2007, but wow, that thirdparty wheel is beautiful.

I wouldn't say it's beautiful, nor even nice. I WOULD say that it was nicely done, as in craftsmanship.

I used that vendor to replace the wood in one of my series III VDP's. If you're here in the States and you do business with them, I wish you the best of luck. They are very good at communication until you place an order.

The order took forever to deliver. They didn't reply to email requests for status. Even though I paid to ship it to my home, they didn't pay enough to ship it. It was hung up in customs until I shelled out additional $$$ to get the product, and it was significant postage.

When the shipment finally arrived, there was a notice accompanying the packing slip that said there would be an additional core charge applied to my credit card if I did not send them my old center console bits. Something they fail to mention anywhere on their web site.

The actual craftsmanship was good but not superior in anyway. Fitment was not quite OEM.

Interesting wheel, but I prefer the stock Jaguar wood/leather wheel in my 2007 XK.

I liked the wood/leather wheel in my 07 XK so much, I swapped it into my 2010 XKR!
