A/C blowing cold only above 2000rpms
I got my 2011 XKR last weekend I have my first issue with it.... A/C only blows cold air when I'm going higher speeds and RPMS are above 2000, below 2000 rpms there is no cold air just ambient temp...
I left the car at dealership yesterday so they could do A/C diagnostics and today they came up with compressor needs to be replaced... and that would cost $2300!!!!
I think they are out of their minds , isn't compressor either work or it doesn't what RPMS have to do with compressor as it runs on belt with constant speed... unless I'm wrong here
Anyone had similar issue? I have all Sunday to troubleshoot this problem so any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Odometer reading?
The A/C compressor is powered by the serpentine belt driven by the crankshaft pulley, hence the compressor rotates at varying speed as the engine speed varies.
You might try hooking up to the system with manifold gauges to see what is the low and high side pressures at engine idle speed. Maybe the system would benefit from the addition of some R-134a.
If you conclude the compressor does need to be replaced maybe you could locate a used unit to reduce the repair cost.

Its the DPS valve sticking. An indi will replace it with the updated part for $600. Including recharge, diagnostic, parts and labor. Jaguar dealers want to ingnore their own technical bulletins and replace the whole compressor when a $200 part has failed. Google JTB00380NAS1.
it looks that removing the Compressor is the most labor intense part..
