Default Can anyone check my freeze frame info - code P0087-00. - thanks! (2009 XKR 4.2))

hi..

I have Code P0087 - Low fuel rail pressure Bank 1.

The symptoms are the car will drive normally for a few minutes, then suddenly splutter and then engine will die.
It is then difficult to restart the engine, but once started it will run again for a few minutes until it splutters and dies again.

I changed the fuel filter and the fuel rail pressure sensor already.

I just bought an Autel code reader and did the freeze frame a few days ago.
Not sure how to interpret the data - I can see "Short term fuel trim bank 1 -9.375" - is much lower than bank 2.

Date is pasted below - PDF of data attached.
Can anyone help?

Car is a 2009 XKR 4.2L.

Many thanks
Steve

What I'm confused about is code "P0087 - Low fuel rail pressure Bank 1".... yet "Short term fuel trim bank 1 = -9%"

So ECU thinks the mix is too rich (too much fuel) - but the P0087 code is not enough fuel?

skewed frp, bad pump and or fpdm will do that

if you didn’t use a ford frp you will dig yourself a deeper hole

hi, sorry for my ignorance.. what is FRP?
I'm guessing Fuel Rail Pressure?

I can look at getting a replacement FPDM.

The readings below are from the ECU via my scan tool.. I didn't physically check the pressure.
I have replaced the fuel rail pressure sensor already.. so presumed the reading would be accurate.

Hi @MuscatCat Yes he means fuel rail pressure. Your reading is showing pa (Pascal) of 219 which equates to .031 PSI. I presume that's what the pa is representing in your Autel output. Normal fuel rail pressure is 65 psi.

Ahh.. didn't realise it was in Pascal!
I'll change the settings next time.

Guess I need to check the electrical connection to the pump somehow.
I have the back seats out and can see the connector, just need to work out how I can test it..

I can't hear the pump turn on (not sure what I should be hearing).. but the car runs for a few of minutes after starting.. so it seems its not completely dead (if it is failing)..
