I also want one but they are to expensive as their claimed warranty is of very little good for me. If it should break I have to sent it back to China which is expensive and hope I get it back fixed, also I will be without the unit in at least 2 month!
I spoke to one of the vendors on Aliexpress and told them price is way to high. For my Citroen c4 there also is the 12" Tesla style unit and it costs $5-600, answer I got "You rich man".
As I've looked a couple of weeks on Ali for these they don't seem to sell any so if others send them a message that they are to expensive they might lower their prices!?

Hey all you impatient skeptics out here, since the last thread was closed, I have received a PM from Luke Martin..before I continue on I want to reiterate that no one here has empirical evidence to support their conspiracy theories so take this for what it is and nothing more:

I’m really surprised how just because I haven’t posted in a while people start to think I’m not genuine and was in- sincere . Absolutely crazy , just because i haven’t been active and posting, conclusions start to be drawn and the thread is closed .

I have been trying to answer people’s concerns and questions as best as I could ....

I said I would feedback after further time was given to see if any issues arise .

I honestly don’t’ get why people react the way they do. Plus I was in contact with the factory trying to get small things resolved.

Besides all this and putting all this nonsense aside -

Here is some feedback to share if you feel it’s of any value -

1. The unit sometimes needs a reboot which can be done from the main screen by pulling down from the top of the screen twice to reveal a reboot option.

This happens because sometimes in my case twice the reverse camera stops displaying on screen.

2. I am using a dedicated SIM card in the SIM card slot and occasionally it defaults back to the internal sim slot for internet connection and you have to go into settings and re select the correct sim otherwise even though you see you have an active internet connection it does not work.

3. The factory have not been able to help with any updates to fix the spelling mistakes or provide updates for the front windscreen heater.

So I have reached out to independent programmers to see if they can root the android device and update the core system software to rectify and resolve these issues to which I’m awaiting a reply.

That said feel free to share or not what I have experienced .... or still believe I started this entire thread out of ulterior motives and didn’t provide valuable insights for other members who were considering stereo upgrades.

Terrific. Thanks. Again, prolly not for me but I think input from real users would be extremely helpful. I had questions he didn't answer. I'd like to know the the climate controls and be enlarged. I'd also like to know what OEM functions don't work. I know TPMS but I don't need that. I think steering wheel controls don't work either?
Would like to see him post videos on YouTube so we can see how it performs from someone outside the seller.

The steering controls work fine and that’s an easy integration.

Sounds like he is having the same issues with the seller other members have had in getting answers to issues which IMHO is a good indicator of what has been said before, buy this and you are on your own.

The good news android is a relatively easy OS to edit if someone is willing to take the time, many of the concerns raised can probably be addressed.

My biggest fear is what to do if the hardware fails.

Well if he is trying to market this product, someone needs to fire him as he is doing quite a poor job of it what with the bugs, glitches and lack of support from the seller...

It's also suspicious that he hasn't posted anything in this thread.

If what you say is true because he's fed up with the Forum, then why would he send identical PMs to several Forum members updating his thoughts? Why not just post it here? It doesn't make sense unless he's trying to get them to buy that device. .

Stuart....did you read what Luke said? What kind of sales pitch is that? I will point out to help keep this product all in one thread, I invited him to join this thread back when he started his but he never did....

jahummer, yes, I did and realize that some of what he said was not complementary of that device. Doesn't that prove he's for real, and not a shill? Hmm... Isn't that exactly what a shill wants you to believe?

All I'm saying is that some things are questionable, so Buyer Beware. It's your money to spend however you wish. Just don't say that you weren't warned if you have problems. (This is a general observation, and is not addressed to any specific Forum member).

Regardless of any forum member peddling any product, this specific display-type-thing may have merits. Sure, it's not perfect and maybe a bit garish, but the benefits may outweigh the drawbacks. For some users, it may be Feline Nightclothes. For others, it'd **** 'em off no end.
Let's all wait and see what....... oh heck, didn't someone just say they ordered one? Is that on the other thread? I can't remember who that was. Oh, and disregard "PriveligedJaguar", I think he's also Luke Martin. Not positive, but I'm skeptical.

LoudHogRider! Yeah, I found it on the other thread.

Let's see what he comes up with once he receives and installs this thing. He's an established member of the Forum so I'll take what he says at face value.

If Luke Martin is a troll, then we continue to feed him.

If he is acting in good faith, then it appears we have silenced him (at least as to public posts). Not the best way to encourage new members to join in the dialogue...

I took the plunge and it's on it's way, don't know if I dare write a review! 🙄🤔😁
I really hope it works or a lot of money down the drain! Was supposed to be sent from Germany but seems it's sent from China so it'll take a while, damn Chinese! 😒

Germany? China? This thread has more red flags than May Day in Moscow!

I’ll be interested in your experience. I just installed an android 10 radio in my winter ride - VW Tiguan. It works really well, retained steering wheel controls, wireless CarPlay. Vast improvement over the OEM radio...

Peace be with you brother! Between skeptics, purists and trolls you could be in for a rough ride.

Nah, we all know Pete, and he's established himself quite well as a regular guy.
700+ posts, and none selling anything.
