I'm in Poland, Europe. They have a stock of them in CZ. I'm about to try. 825usd incl shipping cost is the lowest I found for that on AliExpress.
anyone willing to participate in this?
but first want to confirm with them climatic seats and settings like clock adjustment and mph/kmh. If they have it all - can test it.
---
based on answers collected I will not proceed with this. No climatic seats, no vehicle settings etc.

My understanding is that it’s more difficult, but not impossible to activate aux audio on 2010+. An Indy with Autologic may be able to do it.

Let’s say it does work, but considering this is not made by a major manufacturer that you may be able to fall back on if something goes wrong down the road, I’d hang on to the original Jag assembly as a back up. There’s no way to know how support will be, even out of warranty or if this product will still be available in a year or two.
One positive though is it may be a solution for repacking failed OEM units as Jaguar no longer supply new ones.

There are already interfaces that will run a factory amplifier with the head unit missing. Tapping into the steering wheel controls is easy enough.
My problem with this screen is not "will it work" it's how bloody awful it looks.
I've seen one of these units installed in a Bentley, the user interface is just terrible to look at, not becoming at all of a high end motor.
There's so much real estate with this vertical screen, that instead of leaving empty space the "designers" (term used very loosely) filled up the gaps with crap.
On the aesthetics alone, it's a thumbs down from me, regardless if it works or not.

I believe I read in one of the descriptions that the GUI can be customized. I agree it looks too busy and too generic and many icons too small given the space available. Years ago I built GUIs for AMX/Creston TSDs for automation systems and one of the challenges especially with multi page programs was keeping it clean, intuitive and comprehensive. It also made me appreciative and critical of car manufacturers’ GUIs.

The Canavie unit, although not perfect, shows potential. A tesla large high quality modern infotainment unit is possible with complete vehicle OEM settings. The OEM vehicle settings should be easily accessible using the same methods used to access the other controls. In the hands of Rhy's Morgan on the XF forum he should be able to reverse engineer the unit to change the image of the car on the display to a beautiful XK on a tesla like quality display, change the menus, icons and other front-end refinement as desired, and enable access to all OEM functions. The front-end menus and user interface is the easy part to change. Doing the back-end, gaining reliable access to the codes and enabling the unit to talk or hand-shake with the communication network is the difficult part and has been done. Rhy's Morgan has been working on a similar unit with some success. He maybe able to team up with Canavie or reverse engineer the unit to produce a very nice modern solution with all of the benefits of android including all OEM functionality--definitely possible.

I'm with Cambo on the looks. It's just too much for such a small dash and I can't imagine driving at night with that on. My wife's Cadillac has a 9 or 10" screen and it's brightly colored. I didn't mind it initially but it wears on you driving at night. Maybe it times out as most tablets will but still, looks like a Tesla.
I didn't see this thread and looked into it after DGL posted the links on Rhys Morgan's XF Can Bus Hack thread. The more I look at it, the less it appeals to me. Glare is also something that has to be resolved. The screen needs auto dim functionality. I know Rhys resolved it on his XF. If I were to do it, I'd use his software, buy 3 or 4 tablets because you know they are going to evolve. I'd keep all the OEM equipment as Jeremy indicated. Still would have to solve for the surround bezel though. Yeah yeah 3D printer but I don't have one and don't want to learn....
I'm also still a fan of buttons and knobs. They are modern enough for me and I never have to look away to find them. They're easily memorized and you can just reach. Can't do that with soft buttons
Apart from that, I really would just be happy if someone could redesign the current GUI. Ours looks like a fricken excel spreadsheet. Ahem Jahummer........I know, not a priority:-)
