Default Help please: Canvas Interior on Convertible

'07 Convertible

It's tea time now, I have a pot of hot tea and inevitably, I thought of my convertible.

My rear window had a leak once upon a time (fixed now), but the interior headliner canvas has water stains. They're not obnoxious and are barely noticeable, but still bothering me. The water stains are on the passenger side and are about 1" wide and about a foot long - in the direction of the passenger seat.

I have the slate blue trim and ivory interior, but my headliner is beige.

The canvas piece in the trunk that reserves space for the folded down convertible top also has stains on the same side. It's black rather than beige and I'd like to clean that up too.

These are my thoughts/alternatives on what I should do:

1) Shampoo the whole inside top
2) Re-stain it with beige stain
3) Never put the top up.

Rear window leaks haven't been terribly unusual and others have probably gone through this. Any suggestions? What's the best approach?

I tried some "shout" tonight....I did three turns of "shout" then wet rag. We'll see if it's clear in the morning sunshine.

I think I would opt for "never put the top up"
