Default Car is dead

Hi,
Hoping for some guidance. Have a 2010 XK couple

I had the xk emissions recall fixed on Aug 5th, drove my car home and went to start it this morning (August 9th) and it is completely dead. The battery is about 9 months old and the car has been perfect since I bought it in January 2014

I was able to hook it up to a ctek charger but the lights, locks, etc starting flashing, clicking etc, car still wouldn't start(completely dead)

I tried the smart key, the manual key in the door, etc and nothing would stop the constant light flashing and door locking/unlocking,so I unhooked the charger.

The dealer opens on Monday but I suspect they caused the problem

Has anyone experienced anything similar or have any advice,
Thank you

Disconnect the battery from the car and connect the CTEK for at least 24-48 hours. The CTEK is a slow charger. If your battery is fully discharged it will take many hours to have enough charge to operate the car properly.

The car will need a battery disconnect to reset properly after being exposed to low voltage.

Yeah, the car draws about 10 Amps when it's 'awake', which is more than the CTEK can supply.

The dealer probably left doors, hood and trunk open while doing repairs which all drained the battery. Don't worry just give your battery a proper long slow charge then reconnect and you will be golden again.

Same thing happened to mine when I took it in once. Recharge and it should be o.k.

+1 I am also sure the dealer drained your batteries.

It appears, given the fact that your post is the 3rd one in 3 days bringing up near identical dead battery scenarios, that there is a real issue with intermittent battery drain on our cars. My 2010 XKR had this happen twice in 6 months when the battery got completely discharged in as few as 3 days of parking, starting with a fully charged battery.

I hoped that the application of TSB 338553 would fix the issue but, apparently has not. Car is going back to the dealer next Friday.

BTW - the battery checks out fine, so it is not the issue. The issue appears to be that as the car's electrical system shuts off following the shut down of the engine and locking the doors, it shuts off in stages. If one of the electrical circuits fails to shut off it will drain the battery in a very short time frame.

Put a real battery charger on it for 6-8 hours

Hello-I dont know if I am in the right place to ask a question. I just purchased my second 1997 Jag XK8 coupe. The car is from Florida while they don't have rust, they sure get sun damaged. I was installing new spark plugs to verify engine condition and found a really deteriorated plug to coil situation. the plugs so brittle pieces were breaking off trying to unplug them. The right bank were siliconed together to the coil. Can someone suggest a fix of some sort? Perhaps I should have left this car in FLA but I just love these early Coupes, There is just nothing nicer on the road. After I sold my Sapphire blue Coupe in March. I was beside myself missing it. Anyway, any ideas would be welcomed! Be well!

You need to be in the XK8/XKR forum to get the right info.

Which is here:

XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

I've not heard anyone talk about plugs disintegrating. I owned a '97 XK8 until last year; nice car, my only significant problem in 13 years of ownership was the gearbox.
