Default Car wanders and more

Car wanders and some steering wheel vibration . No correction necessary when car wanders, it seems to return by itself. Dealer states one new front tire and one old tire 12000 miles could be the reason. Any thoughts?

Make sure you don't have a bent wheel.
Did you get both wheels balanced when that front tire was replaced? Maybe lost a wheel weight.

Yes old tire was balanced after I bought the car. Needed over an ounce of weight

Won't balancing a wheel and tire show a damaged wheel?

Maybe. Did they do a 'road force' balancing?

You might want to check, and get it done if they didn't do that. Can make a difference on these low sidewall tires.

Update- nothing wrong with tires or wheels, by son told me the road road I was having the wandering on is bad crowned. I hadn't noticed it on my other car because it was a 4 wheel drive. Lots of silly expense to chase a non existing problem.

I think old tires can cause a wandering behavior. When I had old tires the car seemed to follow grooves in the road and I would have to counterterrorism based on the crown/cross slope. When I got new tires, the car drove straight as an arrow!
