Default Carbon fiber vinyl wrap...

I am going to install the Mina Gallery large spoiler, the RS diffuser, the side skirts, and the front splitter. I am considering wrapping them in a vinyl hat looks like carbon fiber and then coating them with clear coat for durability. The rear spoiler I would have painted Ultimate Black to match the car, but the rest of the parts would get wrapped.

Has anyone ever messed with the carbon fiber vinyl stuff? I've found a couple places online that sell the 3M stuff. But the sites that sell it list that it only has a 4 year outdoor lifespan. I wonder is clear coating it would extend the lifespan?

I saw a Saab 93 the other day on my street that was completely done in 3M wrap. To me, it's not befitting such a fancy car as Jaguar. It's fake... I would not do it, it degrades the car IMO.

If the wrap can tolerate clear coat, you should be good for a long time.

I saw an AM DB9 with a carbon fiber rear diffuser and it looked really good. It was a dark charcoal gray color with the carbon fiber diffuser...

I am just toying with the idea right now.

I just got my rover's window trim and roof rails wrapped in gloss black. Also had the xkr's window trim wrapped in black alittle over a year ago. As for cf, I'm with mosesbotbol, I wouldn't do a cf wrap if its not real cf. I say do what you like....I've seen a gtr with carbon fiber rear spoiler wrap and looked good.

Ohhh...I was not aware you could use actual carbon fiber to wrap the parts...I am dumb when it comes to these things.

Never done it but have seen many a new Lambo and 911 owners wrapping all the time. In fact, here is a pic of Jesse James' wrapped XKR.

I think it looks stunning and sinister. I would not have done the lights though. That looks too "modded" to me. Otherwise I have considered doing a wrap either in this matte black or some other shiny color. The shiny or matte colors are a great way to have a car that you don't have to keep polishing out fine scratches!

I have seen the CF wrap up and close. It actually looks quite good if applied professionally. You need to be aware that the wrap has a tendency to shrink, especially when pulled over steeply curved or sharp angled surfaces. Clear coat will make it look shiny and more "real", but in the end clear coat will not prevent shrinkage or fading. Use reputable source for your application. It will cost more but you will get what you pay for.

As for using it on a Jag, I think that's fine as long as it is keeping in tune with the theme and done in taste. Sounds like you are adding the entire kit, so I think you will be ok.
