Default Carbon Fiber Wrap?

So I would like to do something different for my XKR as I'm thinking of keeping it for a few more years. I did the CF hood vents but would like more CF bits. I would like to do the front splitter, the XK175 spoiler, wing mirrors and rear diffuser in CF but the only CF available besides the hood vents are the rear diffusor. Jag does have CF wing mirrors but it will only fit the 2010+ XKs as they are made for mirros with the turn signal cutout.

Has anyone done any CF wrap on any of your cars? I've seen some wraps on GTRs and CTS-Vs and they look good. Question again is, if it's not the real thing CF, should I not do the CF wrap? I would get the real parts but no one makes them except for the hood and CF diffusor for the 2007-2009 XKs. Your thoughts.....

BTW...if any one is interested in the CF diffusor, Paramount makes 2 types:

Carbon Fiber non gloss finish: Jaguar XKR Rear Diffuser Carbon Fibre - XKR Diffuser in real light weight carbon fibre lacquered and finished in gloss

Carbon Fiber with gloss finish: Jaguar XKR Rear Diffuser Carbon Fibre - XKR Diffuser in real light weight carbon fibre

Default CF wrapped mirrors

Here is a picture of my mirrors done in 3M CF. Did them myself. I also did my front splitter center, and the center of the rear diffuser.

I think Mina Gallery sells real carbon fiber covers for the mirrors.

I had my G35 wrapped in matte black for almost 5 years and it looked great. I had many bits done in carbon wrap (roof, mirrors, etc.) and it also looked really good. So conclusion = easy to do, looks great and is durable.

I did the coil covers on my 4.2 with the same 3M 1080 that DGL mentioned. Easy to work with and has held up to the engine temperatures well.

Personally, I like the wrap idea. It looks nice, is inexpensive, and best of all it is removable, if you, or someone down the road, wants to.

Thanks guys for the info and pics. I do have the silver window trim wrapped in black vinyl but wasn't sure if the CF wrap will look ok on the Jag.

DGL...do you have pics of the front and rear center in CF wrap? Thanks.

I'd only use the 3M 1080 glossy series I did my whole interior with... when the lights outside shine in on the wrap it looks really awesome.

I have pictures somewhere but they are not good. I'll take some more and post them. The rear center of the diffuser done in 3M CF 1080 is hadly noticeable. However, from behind at night I bet the car behind me can see it. The front center of the splitter is easy to remove and is easy to wrap. I think it looks subtle and not over done.

Default Carbon Fiber wraps

Can anyone tell me the best way to install the Mina CF mirror wraps by chance?
