Default Cell phone module replacement

Last week I finally managed to get up to my dealer so they could interrogate my cell phone drop out issue. They hooked up their system and it had shown a high number of docking errors. So they ordered another cell phone module and I went to the dealer to get it installed. Great service but it so happened there was a transition change in my MY of the module and they had the wrong one. They gave me a new (12 miles) F-Pace to take home and told me they will get the replacement module tomorrow and would send the car down to me tomorrow . I am assuming this would fix the issue so we'll see when the car gets delivered. All covered under my CPO. So far this dealer has been very good to work with. This is the 1st dealer that I have ever used in the 50+ years I have been driving.

Good to hear they are taking care of you and your problem is covered under warranty. How did you like the F-Pace?

Well it's hard to say. I'm not a fan of SUV's so I can't compare it to others. It's not a bad little car but it is a little firm on the open road. V6 runs good with a lot of acceleration. Exhaust is a little raspy on the low end but disappears as you increase speed above 45-50 mph. Don't need the F-Type sound for a soccar mom type car. Ride is firm and something I wouldn't like as a trip type car . Infotainment is good and sound system good. Once again it still wants you to go back to the home screen to access other features. Showing it to my bride didn't do anything for her so it won't be something she would consider. Then again she has a 89 Volvo 740 that she won't give up. I guess next time I might bring home an XE to see what she thinks of that. Oh seats were very good.

A favor Jagtoes please. I have the OEM VCM cables and software. Will you please ask them where they were in the software that enabled them to see the docking errors? (Settings).
Also, why didn't they just reinstall the software in the OEM module? I presume the answer to this question is that they don't have the software.

Much appreciated in advance.

I'll ask them and see what they say but I was told they plugged in their diagnostics system and interrogated the cell phone module. They also mentioned updating the SW but decided to replace the module just to make sure. Being it's a CPO car my bet is they wanted to get the money from Jag. The service rep has always told me as long as you are under CPO if you feel a twitch that something is wrong just bring it in and they will take care of it.

I agree with your assessment. My goal is to see if I could possibly upgrade the software in my old 07 module.

I've since upgraded to a new module and my phone works but since many have this problem, it would be great if we could find out how to upgrade the software vs replace the module.

I had an F-Type AWD convert a few months ago for a test drive. Was pretty good but to stiff a ride and to tight inside. The exhaust note was great for a few minutes but after a while it was a little annoying. I should have asked for an XE just to compare it to my Lexus as I will most likely be in the market for a sedan in the near future. Oh the F-Pace I had also was a diesel but you couldn't tell.
Now back to my XKR. It's a 2012 XKR convertible

Ok they delivered the car this afternoon. On the repair sheet it said , scanned for codes with SDD . Found code U200D-14 control module output power and code B1A56-13 found BT module faulty. Replaced and programmed BT module. Cleared DTCS and tested phone system, operating as designed.
So I paired my Samsung when it came home and all is well. I'll just have to wait and see if it continues. All done on CPO coverage , no charge.
