Default Check Engine Light: P2096

Getting a CEL with code P2096: Post Catalytic Fuel Trim Bank System Too Lean. The shop replaced the upstream O2 sensor but the CEL is coming back after clearing the code even after the new O2. Any ideas? Thanks.

No thoughts, but I see you changed your sig pic. I saw the leaked images yesterday and Dodge has really upped the sex content in that viper. I'm really looking forward to the official pics! ;D

I did see some blurry pics of the real deal of a red one yesterday online and it's funny how most of the viper guys don't like it. They said the rear looks too much like the Maserati Grant Turismo. I too wasn't digging those pics but I'll wait until the real pics like you. The official car is suppose to be unveiled at the New York autoshow today. We'll see how it looks like.

That's a 'sub'feedback' fault code. It's possible the sub-feedback adaptions were not properly cleared after the new O2 sensor. They are different than the ECM fueling adaptions. They say a 10 minute battery disconnection is the requirement to reset the sub-feedback. I'd go ahead and let it set overnight disconnected, then reset the clock, windows etc. and give it another go. That may be all you need.

Cheers,

xjrguy: Thanks for the info. I just spoke with the shop and they advised the P2096 code is gone but a new code popped up which is P0101: MAF. They're now looking into that code now.

Rahtok: So the '13 Viper has been unveiled at the NY Auto Show. Not sure if I like the front. The rear does look like the Maserati GT....probably the taillights. With 640HP, not sure if that is good enough especially with the current ZR1 rated at 638HP and the new C7 ZR1 around the corner which will be more power. The interior is finally up to market. Looks like it will have launch control, adjustable suspension and lighter. Will take a look in person but might wait for the 991 Triturbo and R8 which should be reveiled next year.

Yeah, I saw those today too -- Frankly I really like the rear and rear 3/4 shots. Interior is straight up awesome, I'm fond of those aesthetics. I'm kinda with you on the front though. Looks a little oddly proportioned. Maybe pull out the dodge crosshair/fiat weirdness from the maw and that'd help. As far as HP -- I think it'll depend on what the weight comes out at. And what they're going to price it at. If they go after the Z06 vs the ZR1, for example, then that makes a good story I think. Either way, there are some great coupes coming out soon.

With Fiat's influence, you do see alittle of the Maserati Gran Turismo rear and Ferrari front end. I see they went back to the Gen I side pipes again. I remember the Gen I's with side pipes was a pain to get in and out because you'll burn your leg as the side pipes ran right underneath the rocker panel.

I think darker color might work better. Here are some pics with a darker red:

Nice pics but over the top styling. Since they redesigned the front and rear so dramatically I wish the would have modernized the roofline too. Yes the front looks Ferrari like, 550/575ish. The interior appears to follow the previous theme and hopefully with a much higher quality plastic

You nailed it....but again Vipers has always been known for being over the top. As for the roofline....I think they wanted to keep the faithfuls happy and keep the original double bubble roofline although they made it more dramatic on this new one.

I believe it still is....at least it's the same 8.4L V10 from Gen III.

If they could only get their v10 to sound like a euro v10 it would really help to transform the character of the car.

Agree. Same as with the original 427 Cobras. I remember test driving one decades ago, a 427 aluminum bodied Cobra with an asking price of $49K at the time. Hah.... would have been good investment to buy it... except, I hated everything about it. I hated the truck-sounds from its engine, I hated its aerodynamics (what...?, it had any???), I hated its handling, hated its brakes, hated the fact that my right foot was burning up from the engine compartment heat after 15 minutes of driving. Just a very crude car that went fast as hell with minimal sophistication.
