Default Check Pedestrian System repair cost...

Hi, can anyone tell me how much the Check Pedestrian System fault has cost to repair? I've got the fault and was told it'd be about £500 to fix if both sensors need replacing behind the bumper but, has anyone actually had this fault repaired for less than that?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

They've gone up a lot since I did my 2007 XK in 2017 when the sensor was under 70 UKP. The cost from Jaguar is 150 UKP each although aftermarket parts specialists are around 125 UKP.

I removed the front bumper to replace them but you'll find forum posts which show it can be done without dismantling.

Hi John, many thanks for that reply. Just out of interest, who was your local Indy? If they're near me, I could look them up as a possible alternative to mine...

Thanks.

I've been told my Pedestrian Control Module is dead (C2P17579, or 7W8314B654AM or 7W8314B654AJ) so I've managed to pick up a second hand unit. Hopefully this will sort the issue. If not, the next port of call will be the sensors which, as it's a 4.2, shouldn't mean the bumper needs to come off, which will help with the bill.

I will update if this sorts the problem...

Well, six months after having both of my sensors replaced the dreaded message came back yesterday. Maybe it was a one off glitch, I'll let you know.

There's a '99 repeats' count on the error code before it becomes permanently displayed.
