Default Chrome rings on key fob

The plasti-chrome on my key fobs looks like crap, it's peeling and scratched. I am considering removing them, sanding, priming, hitting with chrome spray paint, and clear coating them. Has anyone done this? If so how did it come out? Or has anyone used chrome paint on plastic? Thanks guys

See https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ishment-90370/

The chrome rings are about 10 bucks at the dealer.

I am going to first go to the dealer and get myself a pair of new bezels (Extra set).
After that, I am going to gently sand my existing bezels - and apply 2 to 3 coats of either gloss black, gloss silver or flat red enamel paint.
Hopefully, I will post some photos here soon (2 weeks, as I'm traveling), so stay tuned.

I plasti dipped mine in red since it had broken and peeled. Looks cool with red contrast.

Since replacing the chromes on my SmartKey, I've used a leather cover:

So far in 2 months, this had avoided any scratches from carrying it around in my pocket.
