Climate Control Not Working
Hi Guy - nice alliteration -
Don’t know if this helps. Out of the blue last summer the A/C and fan (blower) stopped working. Car being driven at the time (I’m assuming battery was fully charged) daily driver at the time. Never any problems since 2014 ownership. With the help of Chat GPT and forum users,I did a lot of research - checked all relevant fuses, ground, no corrosion or wetness issues. DTC consistent with module failure. Reviewed electrical diagrams. Disclosure: I am not savvy with voltage etc readings or multimeter use. Anyway, I isolated the problem down to the ATC. (BTW, screen controls function - temp up down, auto light on/off. Heated seats and steering wheel indicator lights all working. Outside temperature at -40 degrees Fahrenheit. That in itself suggested a faulty thermostat reader in front at grill.
Battery: Yes, like many forum posters, Battery drainage has been an issue & I’ve had to use a maintainer as well as charging at times. However, for many months before failure I had no issues.
Bought a used ATC (same part numbers) which leads me to my original post.
That’s where I am. Also I’m very stubborn & want to diagnose & fix as much as possible before spending buku bucks on ‘experts.’ Out $350 already from professional shop that read all the codes and just confirmed what I had already suspected. Of course, they couldn’t fix.
