Default Configure HLDF via SSD

Hi all,

Need some advice if possible. This is for my mums car (2006 X150 4.2 non R)

It had the usual screen failure a couple of years ago where it would work occasionally but then go dim and unresponsive. You could still see the screen if you used a bright torch. We tried the normal tricks of half brightness and disabling auto.

A second hand unit was purchased and fitted, this I believe is from a newer vehicle as it had newer looking logos. This worked apart from the climate controls would not work. They have lived with it since and just got by until a few months ago. The screen started acting up and freezing or not going off. It would also stay on when the car was locked causing the battery to drain.

I tried to configure the unit again through SDD. This also reported that the software was newer than the vehicle. It performed the update which took just over two hours.

Unfortunately this failed and it now displays the palmyra emergency OS

I’ve read that this can either be recovered by trying the update again by SDD or from a USB patch file.

Has anyone ever recovered theirs via SDD? Or is the USB the better option? If so does anyone have the patch files?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Luke

If you cannot get this resolved, consider just replacing the screen in your original unit. It is about $100 with shipping. Search for Toshiba LTA070D010F on eBay. It is plug and play, but does take a bit of moderately delicate disassembly.

Hopefully you can find the patch files within SDD. You probably have an XF screen (starts with 8X?) and the XF uses a different climate control module than the 07-09 XK, as do the 2010 onward XK's (2009 onward in your neck of the woods). That's why the climate controls don't work. If you find the files, upload them directly into the top of the touchscreen using a usb mini OTG cable. Peel back the silver tape and you'll see the port.
