Default considering a 2008 XKR

In the complete carfax there are items listed as "electrical system checked", "convertible top operation checked" and others. Is this scheduled preventative maintainance checks or problems being repaired?
Thank you in advance.

Those are just regular maintenance. Mine even had some entries about certain modules being reprogrammed and electrical systems repaired. I'd rather have the systems checked/repaired than not. As long as everything is currently working and you get an AGM battery or maintainer, it should be fine.

Drive it. That will answer any questions/concerns you may have. Bet you don't have any after a spirited test drive. 😜

Default 2008 XKR Porfolio conv.

If you haven't pulled the trigger yet, this car was $106,700 new. Its a 2008 XKR Portfolio with 18,000 miles. Only 138 Portfolio convertiables shipped to the US. This one has the hand rubbed walnut dash. Celestial Black is has the blue flecs and looks black on a cloudy day but blue in sunlight and under artificial light. Google 2008 Portfolio XKR and read the Car and Driver and Dupont articles. You will fall in love. They want $46,000 but that is a fair price.

Jim:

Nice find with one owner and low mileage. When someone finds an XKR like this, you have to jump on it. This one won't last long. The dark Blue with the Beige interior has a real "rich" look. In addition, it looks like it has the Alcon brake system which was about a $5000 option. (Note the red calipers) Very nice find.

Carfax looks very clean with no reported problems at all:

If I wanted another XKR, this would be a great choice.

I see you are in MA, who do you plan to work on your Jag? Best to have an indy and a dealer to cover all the bases. 90% of the repairs my indy does and for much cheaper.

And PLEASE: get a battery minder (CTEK is just about the best), install it permanently, and use it when the Jaguar is not in use. The XK has very heavy electrical power needs; if the battery cannot provide full volktage, you will get very odd and very random "failures" and warning lights - none of which are failures; all of them are the result of low or erratic battery voltage. Once you ensure correct voltage there will be no problems. These are very reliable, wonderful cars.

I Have used the Jaguar dealer in Woburn for work on my Series 1 e-type. My experience was fine. I don't have an indy shop. I remember hearing about a guy in southern NH. Anybody know of a good indy shop in the north shore ma. area?

Woburn is a good dealer. I did my AC condenser repair there was pleased with very detail of the experience.

I know of two indy Jag repair shops in Boston; one at BU and another in Brighton.s

I missed out on the '08 xrk that has been mentioned on the forum. I tried to give a deposit this morning but it was already sold. Too bad, that was a good one. Happy driving to the new owner.
