Default Conv Quarter Window cable off rollers

The cable came off its rollers on the left quarter window over the weekend. I have been working on it all day and it this point I have everything off and the regulator is loose in the well. Unfortunately, the window is in the down position and I cannot get it up due to the binding of the cable. Any suggestions? I did a search and found Philbone had the same problem with his car. He said it was a bear to get the regulator out because the window was in the down position but he didn't say how he managed it. Thanks,

Does the window clamp into the regulator like many others do? Unbolt window, lift to raised position and hold up with a chunk of wood while fighting the regulator. PITA.

The glass is clamped into the glass carrier which is bolted to the regulator. Unfortunately the cable is a tangled mess and I cannot get the carrier to move up to the top position for removal.

This suggestion sucks, but if I were totally stuck, I'd consider cutting the cable to free everything, finish the removal, and then send the regulator off to that rebuild service that has been referenced in earlier threads, for about $175, or you might just be able to get a replacement cable, and be good to go.

Thanks for the suggestion KJ, I was finally able to get the regulator into a position where I could cut the cable from both ends of the truck. Then the window could be moved to the top of its run and the regulator came out without a problem. Thanks again.
