I havent messed with my seats yet but I would suggest taking a look at the Bentley manual, the XKSUnlimited and SNG Barrett catalogs.

The cars are very simple so some study should show fasteners or detentes that keep everything from falling apart.

Each slider should have four ***** (as in a ball bearing) to separate the two parts of the slider, and provide the sliding action with minimal friction. As it was the 80s, I can't remember the detail but essentially one uses grease to hold the ***** in place while assembling. The grease is an essential part of assembling the slides, anyway. There are a couple of split, or spring pins to hold the thing together when assembling.

Sorry I can't tell you more, it is too long ago, and memory fades. Did you not disassemble them yourself ?

The nylon little drums that are supposed to make the seats slide back and forth easy on an xke are self-undoing ! the nylon rollers/drums are a snug fit in between the seat slider tracks so any dirt or rust tends to make the seat more diffcult to slide Soooo
I removed the rollers and greased the slider tracks and they work like a charm without them ! You can hammer one track over the other to roll over the nylon drums to get them out.

No ball bearings in series II, nylon drums. Punch up dimple and then note position of drum on upper and lower tracks as they come out. Clean and reverse assembly and repunch dimple to keep rollers from coming out. Series I had metal rollers that has O-rings in grooves.
