Default Cosmetic issues with XKR

I am an 01' XK8 owner looking to get an XKR. There is one locally, a black on black XKR 100 with Recarco seats. The issues are (i) there is an inch or so where the stitching has separated on the driver side seat booster and (ii) there is a small but easily seen dent in the front right panel about the driver side headlight. On the dent, I wouldn't mind it all that much but the prior owner sloped some paint with a brush over the dent. I suspect that means the paint had come off, but regardless it really detracts from an otherwise good looking car. I would think the seat is a fairly inexpensive fix, and the dent I either have live with or spend a opulent grand to replace that panel, but thought I would ask for suggestions. The dealer is asking $18k, and it has 62,000 miles. Any ideas on how to address these issues and what a fair price would be?

Offer the dealer $15,000 and then have the car fixed. You might be surprised and the dealer will take the deal. You can always go up. It's the art of negotiation dealing with car dealers. Be sure to consult NADA Home Page or New Cars, Used Cars, Car Reviews & Car Prices | Edmunds.com to see what the car is really worth. DON'T PAY RETAIL PRICE ! Car dealers are sharks.

Keep in mind the stitching on the seat bolster is integral to the function of the side impact (seat) airbag. Not that it can not be repaired, but an incorrect fix could impede its ability to protect you.
As it is a key safety item, I would demand it be repaired properly.

Just food for thought....

Sounds cheap. Beat him up a little and you got a deal
