That's not free, and does nothing to reduce the engine compartment temperature caused by heat from the exhaust manifold and pipes. Your 195°F internal engine temperature is much lower than the engine compartment temperature, particularly when you run your car hard. All I'm saying is that you can prolong the life of the rubber parts in your engine compartment simply by opening the hood when parked, and that costs nothing.

I was thinking of doing this on my new cat. I am currently testing a kit to do the 2 side covers first, then I may tackle the main engine cover. But if I can get it for $185 like Stuart, then I may just go with that. Ill post if Iget something worthwhile.

Note that the red paint in the "SUPERCHARGED" lettering cost $20 and was included in the total $185 cost. But that was 6 years ago and prices probably went up.
