Default Dash readings

I just bought a 2009 xk8 at auction with no owners manual. The 2 front wheel sensors appear to be bad, so all I have in the center of the dash is those warning lights. I assume the gas and temperature gauge are there, but cannot see them. How do I get rid of the wheel sensor warning lights so I can view the gauges. I'll deal with the sensors later. Thanks.

Welcome, and congrats on your new XK! Technically, it's not an XK8, which is the previous generation X100 model from 1996-2006. Your 2009 is an X150, with model years from 2007-2015.

Check Ebay for an Owner's Handbook. They come up for sale occasionally.

I suspect that the batteries in your TPMS sensors are bad, and are causing the warning light to illuminate. A tire shop can scan each wheel to determine if you need new sensors. They don't have replaceable batteries, so you'll need 4 new ones. There are several threads that discuss TPMS on this Forum.

There are no oil pressure or coolant temperature gauges, but various workarounds are discussed in this Forum.

The easiest way to search this Forum is with Google. Begin your search search with "Jaguar X150 Forums" followed by the key words that describe what you're looking for. The Forum also has an excellent Advanced Search function that you should learn to use.

If you've been helped by a post, the common courtesy is to press the button at the bottom right corner of the page.

On the center Touch Screen, at the bottom, slightly right of center, there will be a triangle. Touch that triangle once and a "Clear Warning" box will appear. Clear that, then do it all again for the next dash warning.

You sure it isn’t the TPMS

At the top of the x150 (XK, XKR) page is a section labeled "stickies" Somewhere in there - about the middle - you will find an article with a link to a down loadable PDF file containing the Owner's manual, there are also other informative items in the stickies section, check it out. Between the stickies sections and the search box at the upper right corner of all the pages you should be able to find almost everything you might need. For those items not in the above; post them and one of the Forum members may well pop up and be able to aid you. Welcome to the Forum and XK world. Lastly please post some pics.

Ralph,

Links to the Workshop Manuals and Electrical Guides are in the Stickies, but links directly to the Owner's Handbooks are no longer there. I believe they're still available through Topix for a fee.

The "DIY Repairs" section of the Stickies is a must-read.

Stuart

As a new member, Apple6 won't be able to PM you (or do other things) until after he meets certain requirements. See:

Then he/she will just have to get to the stage on the Forum where he is allowed to function like the rest of us.

Welcome @Apple6 to the small club of those who truly appreciate Callum’s last ‘hoorah’.

I prefer to have the original documentation for the car... in the car. You can order the set here and it includes the original packaging:
https://www.jaguarlandroverliterature.com/jaguar

I also have the electronic documentation and I believe it is still available at no cost from here; you will need to register to use the site.
