Default Different P codes Same car Different Readers

Im getting a check engine light . I can clear it and it stays gone for a good while. Nevertheless,

Code Reader - ELM and Torque report P0101

Autel DiagLink - reports P0174$07E8

I researched both codes and understand both. Just makes me wonder how 2 OBDII readers can come up different results. These are generic codes off the OBD scan not Jag specific. If I run the Autel in Jag Mode I get the same P0174 code.

Inquiring minds wanna know.

that's confusing. i guess it's possible that the autel is prioritizing P0174 over P0101, so it knows about both but isn't bothering to tell you about the "less specific" one? still doesn't explain why ELM/torque would do the exact opposite, instead of just reporting both... unless they were both failing to read P0174 for some reason. would be a weird set of circumstances for both of those things to be true.

P0101 is a "stickier" code if i remember right. so if you have an injector issue and repair it and one or both banks goes back to normal, the ECM still waits a while (and collects more MAF data?) even after dismissing the lean codes before also dismissing that one.

In line with this , I started looking for causes of either of the codes.

First thing I found, bottom half of the throttle body boot was not correctly attached and was squished and rolled over.

Weather or not that is / was a factor, dunno , but has been corrected.

TB Blade was pretty dirty do doused it with cleaner.

We shall see if the code comes back.

Check the fuel trims.

P0174 suggests they were terrible, see if they're still poor or adequate or what.
