Default Discontinued Part C2S34383

One of the two little round plastic finish molding hole cover for the hole beneath the JAGUAR embossed trim on the trunk lid has fallen off and is no longer available to order.. It's part # C2S34383. To cover the gaping hole in the mean time I glued a 100 Thai Baht coin in place which fits perfectly but will probably result in point deductions at the upcoming JCCNA Concours d' Elegance. A junk yard would probably look to sell the entire assembly which I don't need. Any ideas?

Default Took First Place in XK Championship Category

2023 Delaware Valley Concour’s d’ Elegance today. My 2007 XK convertible with 205,500 miles took first place. Guess I have a “yen” for it.

As I recall, it's still jail time for defacing the currency in Thailand. Best cancel your entry for the Bangkok Concours.

If you didn't get it, that's because it's British humor.

They should give you full marks for ingenuity. But all kidding aside. I feel your pain and am also missing one of those. Hope you find it and hope you win.

Default Wrong coin Right Fit

Found out that the coin is actually a Japanese 100 yen.

I had one replaced about 18 months ago - immediately after I took over my current XKR.
Local dealership had one available and charged 18 Euro, which I thought was horrendous for such a tiny piece of plastic.
Seems I was lucky reading this post?

Couldn’t find C2S34383- plastic underside cap on boot trim. I used a rubber grommet for Drill Hole ID 3/4”. Tight fit but it works well and is better than that plastic cap, which becomes brittle and the tabs break off. Also, it won’t fall out as the grommet is slotted so the rubber is both inside & outside the body metal. No moisture will get in there either.
