DRL's for 2008 to 2011 XK's
I purchesed a used headlight to try to come up with a solution . but as yet have found nothing that looks profesional' others have taken them apart and incerted strip lights , but Imhp. don't look very good , and not bright enough.
Depending which car you have, I reverted on my 08 XKR to putting them in the fog light grill.
I am still working on the idea.
I am upgrading my front bumper to 2010+ model year and am planning to put DRL in the side vents. Currently I am looking at these:
Drive Bright | Ford Edge LED DRL Kit (with Built-In LED Turn Signal) ? On Sale Now $15.00 OFF
They are for a Ford Edge but I think the shape is close enough and might look really good in our side vents. I am emailing them trying to get dimensions and try them out if close enough.

Do you have the dimensions.
There are some cheaper chinese made ones on eBay but I am afraid those might be dim. At least with $200 ones, you know you are getting quality since the Edge owners who have them installed are confirming it is really bright.
You can also buy oem Ford ones for cheap but those are dim.
This is what I did to mine and what Bernie maybe referring to. The pictures are not the best and these LEDs are WAY brighter than they appear. They light up the front of the house and garage at night.

Jayhummer. Please dont take offence Yours look very bright perhaps you could tell us where you purchesed them. I was not refering to yours in particular but others I have seen in PERSON. hard to tell by a PIC, it all depends on which LED are used .
I am sorry I did not mean to offend anyone that works hard to mod their car

Hi Bernie
No offense taken. But as everyone knows not all LEDs are created equal. I actually really like yours and had asked you abut them. Anyhow mine are 5053 MAX made by Alpena in Canada. These are the brightest flexible strips I could find anywhere.

May I ask how you did this? It's precisely the solution for my '11 XK that I'm looking for! Thx.
I agree! I would love to know how that was done, I would definitely do it on mine. I can't believe I didn't see this thread earlier when I was searching for different options regarding adding LED'S, this is One of the best I've seen so far.
I had a thread about how I did. it. Not sure I would ever do this again. They came out pretty good but was a lot of work. Next time I would probably send them out to be done professionally. I actually ended up pulling them from the car and installing brand new non-modified ones and have the set I made boxed up and sitting.
