Default Duckbill and A/C Recharge

My duckbill is clogged and needs to be cleaned out. The A/C is also due for a recharge. Would the tech have easer access to the duckbill when he recharges the A/C?

Just as a point of note you AC should also not loose gas and need a top up. Its a sealed system which means you have a leak, this will likely be a seal on one of the lines or more than likely the compressor front O-ring. There are a number of things that can be done and being educated can save you a lot of cash as to replace the compressor has the part and labour price as you have to remove the front wheel and engine mount to be able to access the compressor from below, it will also mean removing the serpentine belt so this is also a good time to think if the belts and tensioners were done recently and if not should they be done as well along with having water pump replaced?

Back to the AC, if the system has some gas they can reclaim and use a vacuum pump to see if it holds a vacuum if it does then your system is good can be re-gassed accordingly, if not they can put a dye in the system and check with a UV light to see where its leaking and you can go from there. On mine it was leaking from front compressor O-ring they want over Ł700 for the part (not main dealer) I sourced the compressor new from 3rd party Ł360 and had an independent mechanic come and fit for less than Ł300. I regassed the system myself as I have vacuum pump and gauges could get enough gas the 134a online.

I just dont like people being ripped off so hope this helps
