Default Electrical Gremlins - Fuel gauge

Just one more electrical gremlin that I can report:

Starting to drive my XKR last night I casually noticed the fuel range display showing 290 miles left to empty. A few minutes later suddenly the low fuel display came-on, the range now indicating ZERO. My first reaction was to cut across 4 lanes of heavy traffic just to make the last gas station before heading into a canyon with no fuel stations.

By the time I managed to fight myself across the heavy traffic and into the station, the display reverted back, showing the usual clock and the range was back to near 290 miles. Thanks Jaguar, make me remember the horrors of Lucas electrics in my very first Jaguar during the early 80s.

Won't blame this one on the battery as the car has an almost new AGM batterty.

I would check ground connections. Bad grounds are the cause of many electrical "glitches", particularly as cars age.
