Default Engine size

This may be a dumb question but how o I determine the engine size in my 2007 xkr convertible.
I have read where the xkr are all supercharged 420 hp motors and I also have read where some are standard 4.2l 300hp.
How do I tell?
Any guidance is truly appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks so much for the info. Driving the car felt like much more than 300 hp.
I always appreciate the information I receive here!

Joe those specs are for the naturally aspirated car not the supercharged

Conversion: 283 kW X 1.36 = 384.88 HP

Same displacement though

I saw that after I replied - so the XKR can come with or without the supercharger?
420 hp is with the supercharger and the conversion you provided is for the naturally aspirated. Got it.
I also found where the engine cover on the super charged engine actually says supercharged on it.
Sorry if I seem a bit clueless - it's my first jaguar and I am taking in a lot of information about these cars.
Thanks for the help!

You may get data if you put the VIN into FordEtis home page

It came up on the Fordets site - 4.2l naturally aspirated engine.
Mystery solved!

Ok, I'm confused. You say you have an XKR that is naturally aspirated?
Doesn't make sense. The XKR is supercharged, the XK is NA.
Is there a supercharger under the hood?
Someone could have placed an 'R' badge on the rear.
In 2007 the front of the XKR is significantly different than the XK.
So unless a previous owner replaced some body work:
1. the XKR will have 2 vents on the hood (the XK does not)
2. the XKR will have vents (grill work) by the fog lights (the XK does not)

2007 XKR

2007 XK

Now I am not confused - here's the story - got the car st an auction - it was rough and I have zero experience with Jag's.
I have read and researched until my eyes started hurting.
I was under the impression that the convertibles were all XKR. Apparently that's not the case. My car does not have the vents in the photos and the engine cover doesn't have supercharged embossed on it.
My car is a 2007 XK convertible with a naturally aspirated 4.2l.
I am guessing the previous owner put the R emblem on it.
I will remedy that immediately .
Now I feel properly educated and for that I thank you.

Default To Add To The Confusion ...

Joe,
The factory model designation of X150 is for the aluminum-alloy coupes and convertibles that were first introduced as 2006 models in the UK/Europe and 2007 models in the USA/Canada. The previous X100 model was steel construction. Although the available drivetrain choices were the same around the world, certain limited edition models with special trim and equipment packages, colors, and wheels were market-specific and not available everywhere. The 4.2L engines (NA300HP/SC420HP) were replaced with 5.0L engines (NA380HP/SC510HP) beginning with the 2009/2010 model year in the UK/USA, respectively.

I love the fact these relatively small capacity engines punch above their weight in terms of performance, I guess having an all aluminium body helps !
