No break in but it was left with the positive battery terminal disconnected during the repairs to save the battery.

If I remove the fuse that governs the steering lock will that release it or does it need to be reset in some way.

 

Resetting steering lock? A lay mans answer is to use the key fob to lock the car twice. Do this a few times. Then get in and put the fob in its cradle. Now start the car.

 

Ah, I was expecting something complicated having to unlock it manually or resetting it in some complicated way.

From the readings, another 150 experienced a locked steering from a small accident. In his case the rear view mirror had been disconnected which the CAN did not like, and locked the steering.

 

I would have never considered that could have been the cause of the problem. I'll check mine to ensure its fitted properly thanks
