Evan “not ready”
Went to have my 2007 XK annual car inspection done but failed due to “electric parking brake” not functioning.
Followed online reset steps that included disconnecting/ reconnecting the battery. EPB reset and was now functioning. After driving about 100 miles since reset, I went back to have reinspected but car now failed inspection due to “evap” and “2 sys” not ready (not reset since battery disconnect?).
Checked gas cap and drove car per various reset procedures but no change. Have not had any issues with battery which is less than 2 years old.
Any and all comments/ suggestions appreciated.

The common cause of an EPB failure, is an insufficient battery. The service manual dictates that a battery reading 12.5v may need charging or replacement.
As the appropriate vehicle codes are not provided, I can only assume that the learned emissions statistics are insufficient to pass your test.
(ie, you need to drive the car for a week)

"that the learned emissions statistics are insufficient to pass your test" ......Had the same "evap" systems not ready when doing an annual inspection on several vehicles and it was due to a battery disconnect, not the battery itself. It can take up to 100 miles or so for the EVAP monitors to reset themselves. I fixed the issue by driving the vehicles around for a while. Then they were all set and passed the test. An OBDII reader can usually tell if the EVAP systems are ready or not ready before you go back for the inspection. Good luck.
