2009 XKR satnav problem. It has a screen and gets the GPS signal on the map all displays OK, but voice guidance has been lost. You select a destination, it finds the destination, you select route and then nothing...just seems to lose its memory and goes back to the map with your position on it but no guidance. Any ideas more than welcome.

As you have a 2009 MY, I've moved your post from the XK8/R (X100) section to the appropriate XK/XKR (X150) section. One of the forum members familiar with your MY will be along to assist.

As this is your first post, please stop by the New member section and post an intro. In return, you will receive a warm welcome and some useful tips to navigate the forum.

Is guidance turned off?
I usually have it turned on, just to hear that pretty British accent, even if I know where I'm going. But when the wife is in the car, I turn it off, as it somehow irritates the wife.

Ok, I think I get it. Sounds like you haven't actually 'set' the destination.
I have that problem occasionally too, where I've punched in a destination, and then I push some button that one would think would be the next thing to do, but its not what the car expects, and it loses the whole thing.
I'll have to check that sequence again when I'm in the car.
If you've got the navigation manual, it might be useful to check what the sequence is for entering a destination, I think you missed something.

Hi KJ - thanks once again. I've had the car since 2009 and have frequently used the satnav over the 8 years or so. The other thing that points to a fault is that if you do manage to get the guidance going it sometimes suddenly stops, goes to the compass and then may come back on again. It can also be "guiding you" to a destination then suddenly stops and reverts to a map. By the way, the CD or DVD is an updated one as I thought maybe the old DVD was kaput, but have exactly the same problem with the new DVD in the player. Am thinking of getting a new satnav but not Jaguar - hah !

Ah, that's a more complete picture of what's going on, and yep, that doesn't sound normal at all.

Are you in reality my brother in law writing under an alias KJ? This sounds like a familial problem I have as well.

Now that would be cool, wouldn't it?
Unfortunately I don't think any of my brothers-in-law own Jags, but maybe I can trade one of them for you? Don't think my wife would mind either!
