Na my kids got one so not my taste. In fact I only need 1 seat in a car now. Satisfied with my purchase last year and most likely it will be my last car anyway. Enjoy the ride.

Sean W.,
I can't speak to Mercedes Benz reliability, but I can to my 2010 XKR's. Sometime next month I will pass the 200,000 mile mark in a pulleyed and tuned, 600hp coupe. It has been supremely reliable for nearly all of that time. And I've never owned an automatic transmission car that has gone 200,000 miles with nothing more than fluid changes twice. When I owned Chrysler products, I never went 60,000 miles without rebuilding or replacing the tranny. In our Buick Enclave, which we've given up on driving, I've replaced the tansmission five times in a little over 100,000 miles. Even our wonderful Lincoln MKX had the transmission replaced under warranty in its first year of life. My XKR is not perfect as I've replaced a number of sensors, water pumps, etc. over the years, but it's been the most reliable car among 30+ I've ever owned. The worst among those 30 were three mid-80's Volvos which didn't last over one year in our household. I guess Volvo's safety reputation is based on the fact that you were never driving them on the road, so you never got hurt.

I will dread the day that my XKR finally gives up, because I don't see anything I'd like as much or would give me the joy I've had for the last 8 years.

Happy New Year to all my forum brothers and sisters.

OK Ted, let's be honest and in defense of Volvo, was there ever a great car built in the 80's?

Great cars were built since 1996 - when the XK8 was launched. 😺

Sort Of? I had a 1984 Ford F250 that was completely bulletproof. Nothing could break that truck.

Huh. I must have been psychic, I never bought an ‘80s car. 60’s, 70’s, 90’s, 00’s, and ‘10’s. Totally missed the 80’s.

Thanks for the input. I've found one that I might like. I will let you know my decision in the next several days, after a PPI and some negotiations.
