Default Fasteners needed for XK/XKR under Bonnet RESOLVED

I am looking to buy plastic fasteners that are used under the Hood/Bonnet for my 2009 Jaguar XKR.

Use is to secure the plastic covers under the hood.

Does anyone have a source for these? Fits hole size 9MM

I would first check the Vendor Directory for sponsors who sell genuine Jaguar OEM parts:
Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum - Vendor Directory

There are countless plastic push-in automotive fasteners, and to find the exact one you need is like finding the needle in the haystack. Although the OEM Jaguar fastener will be much more expensive, you will save time and aggravation by going through a Jaguar dealer's parts department.

If it's for the XK8 in your SigPic, it doesn't use this type of fastener.

There are no fasteners used on the equivalent covers on the earlier model.

Also the pollen filter, if you have one fitted, requires removal of the wiper arms to access the housing.

Default I'll buy you a beer!

Try Auveco Products - Automotive, Industrial and Specialty Fasteners. If they don't have what you need, I'll buy you a beer!

Great catalog...I downloaded it but send me the brew........

Blue Moon White Belguim Wheat. best beer around. if you haven;t tried it, suggest you do so. From Golden, Colorado

Didn't have what I was looking for, at least not an exact match. There are many others that will fit the 9mm holes that the fasteners go into. Just trying to keep everything original. I am missing just 3 total.

Have source out of the UK that is close. Sent him an email.

227sparts | eBay

Does small quantities and cheap prices.

Follow up on fasteners above:

Auveco does not sell direct.....

There is a huge difference in pricing for these fasteners as researched by member Kopavi last night.

So interesting to see the major difference in pricing:

Motorcars Ltd Parts $33.40 for 10 pieces
Terry's Jaguar Parts $26.10 for 10 pieces
Northland Fasteners $21.96 for 10 pieces
Clips and Fasteners $8.61 for 10 pieces.............. http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Sea...&Search.y=-126

Learning a good lesson here from the forums....anything with the name Jaguar attached whether Jaguar OEM of after market is EXPENSIVE.

Any Fastenal distributor sells these fasteners.....not sure if they stock them or special order. Best deal for pricing is above. My order has been placed today via internet and payment with PayPal.....so easy to buy a "even a cave man can do it".

Thanks to Kopavi for doing some research of finding pricing after being alerted on the part number. The Jaguar Forums members are great with one common goal, helping each other.

I thought that I was the only one who managed to drop them somewhere in the engine where they instantly vanish.

If you look at the quote, I was replying to post #2.

It appears from convgto69's forum profile and SigPic that he has a 1997 XK8 - unless you know better?

Great, glad to help .....as these type of forums are designed to help each other.

I placed my order this morning and I received notification that the fasteners have already been shipped. They should arrive by Saturday.

I will be the test person to make sure these fasteners fit. I only need a few so I will have a few extra and will advise. Always willing to share when possible.

I will get back to you.

Go to any Ford dealer. As was posted above the Lincoln LS was a twin to the S Type and used the same fasteners.

They usually keep them in stock.

I had a few engine fasteners missing when I first looked at my car online and asked the dealer to have them replaced which he did. They all look the same in the engine compartment. Some are very tight and some spin when twisted but don't come lose.
