OP went for the "hot chick" as you encouraged him to do so.

If you want more recent nav discs, see post #5 here:

I bought the Volvo discs and they work well in my 2007.

Thing with the Volvo disks..... they remove the British Chick's voice option.

Exactly why my Volvo disks are sitting on a shelf, and not installed in the car. Maybe if I take a road trip into unfamiliar territory I’ll install them, otherwise the British Chick stays in the car for my entertainment (interestingly, the wife doesn’t like her).

then you're doing something really right. Gotta keep them on their toes! Haha. I never use nav. Im old skool, and when in need, I use google maps but, I might have to hear this fine lady’s voice on
my next drive.

How exactly is google maps old school? I'd have thought paper maps were old school.

My wife thinks the American female voice on the Volvo disks sounds like a nag. I concur. The Brit voice is definitely more soothing, or is it just less annoying? I turned off the voice guidance on the two occasions I used Nav. since getting the Volvo disks.

The proper English voice is refreshing when pronouncing Spanish street names such as Sepulveda or Laguna Niguel.
It sounds like The Queen ordering fajitas at Taco bell drivethrough....with a gun to her head.

lol! I was being sarcastic. The Nav in my XK feels ancient, google maps is ahead of the game. I still own a few Thomas guides from the 80s and 90s, I do miss those days
