Let me add to the welcome. You now have a great car and have become a member of a terrific well informed group that is more than willing to share its collective knowledge. Don't forget the battery tender!! Preferably a CTek. Welcome aboard.

I have mine permanently mounted on a workbench adjacent to where I park my XK. I have it plugged into a outlet also mounted on the bench. I hook it up to the car each night and unhook it when going out for the first time each day. I think hooking up and unhooking takes somewhere between 15 and 30 seconds and I stow the cord half in the trunk and half on little hook I put in to the bench next to the CTek. The cord in the trunk is permanently hooked up to the positive anode and a ground in the trunk. the whole installation took about 30 minutes.

^^^ What he said ^^^
Me, I plug mine in when I park and unplug before I leave, every time. Course I only drive mine maybe a few times a week.

Ok appreciate the tips. I'm now assuming my battery is in the trunk as I have not checked to see where it is located as of yet.

Yep, in the trunk, over the rear axle, behind a cover that's secured by 4 finger tightened screws.
