Flickering head unit
Hi
Need advice on flickering/malfunctioning head unit on 2007 XKR cabrio. Following a water leak (may be unrelated) on start up the touch screen just flickers with the Jag emblem, meaning I can't use sat nav, radio, heating etc. Any ideas of cause? If I need a new unit where is best place to get replacement new or used?
Thanks

Although you may have problems with either the entire head unit or the myriad of items connected to it, the very FIRST thing to try is to....
Make Triple-Dang-Certain that your car battery is Totally, completely and fully charged. This is the number one culprit for any and all electrical problems.
No, do NOT connect a trickle charger or even a battery maintainer and call it good.
Disconnect the battery from your car. Check the voltage, it MUST be 12.6 VDC or higher. Even if it is 12.6 or more, CHARGE it using at LEAST a decent ten amp charger for many, many hours.
OR, for absolute assurance, take the battery, either in the vehicle or removed, to a battery sales location (Auto Parts Store) where it can be properly load tested, and probably charged completely and properly for the grand total of Zero Dollars, Pounds, AUD, CAD, Rupees, or whatever currency you have in your non-specified part of the entire globe.
